 United Commonwealth Society (UCS) Minimize

About the UCS

The United Commonwealth Society was founded in London, United Kingdom, in 2002 as the Federal Commonwealth Society. The UCS now has members across CANZUK and in other countries.

We are not a reactionary or revolutionary organisation. Nor are we a monarchist or republican movement. We simply seek to re-invent the Commonwealth to make it more relevant and independent for the future.

We are run by a council of mostly elected members (and one unelected – the founder and Chairman Emeritus) , and welcome contributions from around the world from people who believe in the Commonwealth and CANZUK unity.

Our constitution and detailed proposals are available on this website, and all members and visitors are welcome to participate in debate on the discussion forum.

Core Principles

The UCS constitution contains the following Core Principles:

  1. The UCS exists to promote a closer relationship between the core nations of the
Commonwealth, centred on Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the UK and some other Commonwealth realms and territories.
  2. The UCS seeks to promote closer ties and understanding across the Commonwealth
    as a whole.
  3. The UCS wishes to see the Commonwealth used to promote freer and fairer trade and greater democracy and good governance across its members. We support the expansion of the Commonwealth as well as the exclusion of states which do not meet the organisation’s standards.

Activities

Community engagement with the UCS.

If you would like to become involved, or if you have a suggestion, simply join our discussion forum. We aim to reply to all serious messages in as short a time as possible. You do not need to be a member of the UCS.

CANZUK - Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Associated territories and dependencies.
